James, a US military spouse, then living in Yokosuka, Japan, saw the booming travel between Japan and the Philippines with the entry of budget airlines. He founded SELFiES Travel & Tours as an alternative for Filipinos living in Japan for absolutely cheapest airfares.In 2016, he opened a branch in Pagsanjan, Laguna followed by a branch in Guimba, Nueva Ecija. From then on, James and his team were poised to serve a growing market in travels with more and more Filipinos and foreigners getting access to SELFiES' friendly service and truly unbeatable rates.In less than 2 years, in 2018, SELFiES received a Diamond Award for exceptional sales performance in the Luzon area, Phoenix Award for exceptional sales performance on international flights, and a 2nd Place Overall Top Producer in the country within Via Philippines' business-to-business system. Selfies bagged the same awards in 2019. Via Philippines has over 20,000 agents in 2,400 cities across 9 countries.
Like the rest of the travel industry, we faced unprecedented challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our offices temporarily closed, borders shut down, and travel paused—but our commitment to our clients never did. Through uncertainty and constant change, we continued to guide, assist, and support travelers every step of the way.Today, travel is back—and so are we. Although we had to close our Pagsanjan office permanently, our Guimba office remains open, our systems are fully operational, and our passion for helping you explore the world is stronger than ever.
